1. Please introduce yourself
<Shyft-> Hi, I'm Chris, and I'm sexy.

2. When did you start playing in the league?
<Shyft- > I started playing in the middle of 2004, then I took a long hiatus from the league in 2005 only to come back in December 2005 and make a big splash again.  I've been enjoying my time here ever since.

3. What do you like about magic?
<Shyft-> I find that it's a game filled with nearly infinite possibilities.  There's always room for innovation and true innovators are rewarded with the ovation of their peers, which inspires me to be one of those innovators.  It's a great pastime.

4. What do you do on the site?
<Shyft-> As part of a crack staff of Magic-League J2s, I administer a variety of functions on the site.  This includes grading judge tests, handling rating protests and any site-based tournament issues, and updating the ever-growing database of successful decks from Trial and Master events to include the newest and most interesting tech around.

5. What do you like the most about the league?
<Shyft-> I think Magic-League is a great place to prepare for larger IRL events.  Because of everyone's access to as many copies as needed of every card in existence, the League is more competitive than so-called "real Magic" like MTGO or local store tournaments because no one is hampered in their deck-building by a lack of resources.  Every match in League tournaments is to at least some degree competitive.

6. If you could do one thing to change the league, what would it be?
<Shyft-> I think it would be great to reach out more to the newer players, and help them to enjoy the league more and socialize with each other.  This would involve creation of a Magic-League owned casual only room, and a very attentive and friendly judging staff 24/7 to assist new players from around the world.  Also I'd probably update the guides on the website, and provide links that any non-players looking to learn the game can access to learn how to play magic.

7. Are there any league players you consider tough opponents?
<Shyft-> Streakz, Hugo_8, Splunge, VacancyMan, OneArmedScissor, I've played them a lot and it's never easy.  There are a lot of underrated, unknown, active players out there, for example QuantumDemon, Wojek32, and WillyWonka, all of whom have also impressed me.

8. What is currently your favorite format?
<Shyft-> My current favorite Constructed format is T2 with Coldsnap.  I feel Coldsnap is a set with a lot of very intriguing cards for use in Constructed, and is going to have a huge impact on the format.  Despite that, I'm a Limited player at heart, so my favorite overall format is still Rav/Gpt/Dis Booster Draft.

9. Which league player(s) would you like to meet in real life?
<Shyft-> I'm sure I'd enjoy hanging out with PV and I'd like to meet schadenfreude, Red-, and all my #DC5 teammates Pizat, Tuto- (and his brother Hugo_8), and Blake_C.  Oh, and Pekken and Killah because they're Finns like me.

10. Do you have anything else to add?
<Shyft-> Thanks for the interview!  I hope everyone out there enjoys the league as much as I do, and I'll be doing everything I can to keep it enjoyable when I'm around.  Look for me to continue to be active from now until late August, and then drop off the face of the Earth since I'll be working full time in the day and taking 6 college courses at night.
