I updated my old rack list with ravens crime and added in a haakon singlet. Seems to be working out with te 20+extra discards from ravens crime. Just curious on any suggestions. I'm primarily looking for something to take up the 3 terrors since I seem to be running into so many black creatures lately.
Bg Rack:
11 Swamp
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
1 Pendelhaven
2 Forest
4 Llanowar Wastes
3 Mutavault
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Augur of Skulls
1 Haakon, Stromgald Scourge
2 Tombstalker
4 The Rack
2 Phyrexian Totem
4 Smallpox
4 Nameless Inversion
3 Terror
4 Raven's Crime
4 Thoughtseize
2 Call to the Netherworld |

| you need more green sources. you should probably use gilt-leaf palace and treetop village instead of mutavaults. i would also suggest damnations, so you have a way to beat a chameleon colossus. |

what is call to the netherworld supposed to do? you play only 6 possible targets, and without a successful smallpox and one of these targets already in the graveyard it does nothing anyway.
I saw a similar list that ran 2 call of the herd - a card that you want to draw in most situations, and that still does something if discarded.
Replace terror with shriekmaw for more winconditions or eyeblights ending if you have problems with black creatures.
And play 4 twilight mire, you need more green sources. Or even better, play treetops and more lands overall so you can win with manlands and use superfluous lands to retrace ravens crime. |

The biggest problem I would run into when I used to play bg rack was not enough face smash, not too little discard. Add some call of the herds and get rid of the terrors for cruel edict/slaughter pact/unmake/damnation.
As great of a card as mutavault is, I strongly believe that treetop village would be a better fit in that deck. |

| If you're gonna play some Raven's Crime, y not add in a set of Dakmor Salvage's to contiuously play Raven's Crime? it would be helpful but in the same sense it wouldn't... |

Isn't Tombstalker and Tarmogoyf on collision course?
Here are the suggested changes:
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Augur of Skulls
3 Chameleon Colossus
4 The Rack
4 Bitterblossom
4 Raven's Crime
4 Thoughtseize
4 Smallpox
4 Nameless Inversion
2 Damnation
4 Treetop Village
2 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
1 Pendelhaven
4 Llanowar Wastes
4 Twilight Mire
2 Gilt-Leaf Palace
6 Swamp |

| You would think so, but they work fine together. |

| I understand that this is a Rack list. The thing about retrace is you need another card like CoW or Kelpie to break the one for one trade. If you are not running one of the above, find another card for that slot. Distress comes to mind. Harmonize is also great for rack. |

Also the mana cost on kelpie is a little prohibitive in a deck that tops out around 3 mana a game, same goes for colossus so I just run 2 of those in the sb. The list is still pretty similar to the original posted list except for the following:
-3 terror, -1 call, -3 swamp, -1 mutavault, -1 totem
+4 cruel edict, +3 forest, +2 damnation

It's just really fun to play turn 2 augur, turn 3 augur.
I tried running treetops but cheap cost of the vault and being able to play it untapped is just more comfortable for me.
I still might try adding in 2 call of the herd. Seems like a good idea if the game starts running long. |
