So, I went to the PTQ Atlanta with some jank red randomness and got pwned... soo back to the drawing board with Fish! I have around 10 days to prepare for the next PTQ within driving distance and need some help. My deck list is as follows and is subject to change... probably will. I basically cut and paste from a few merfolk decks I have seen online.

Main Deck (60)

Lands (23)
4 Wanderwin Hub
4 Mutavault
3 Plains
2 Mystic Gate
10 Island

Creatures (25)
3 Sower of Temptation
2 Sygg, River Guide
2 Sygg, River Cutthroat
4 Cursecatcher
4 Merrow Reejerey
4 Silvergill Adept
4 Stonybrook Banneret
2 Mulldrifter

Spells (12)
4 Sage's Dousing
4 Ponder
4 Cryptic Command

Sideboard (15)
1 Sower of Temptation
4 Burrenton Forge-Tender
3 Negate
4 Pollen Lullaby
3 Oblivion Ring

I'm a little concerned about what to sideboard vs the current meta game and debating on having Lark for a little late game punch.

This is what I have so far as for Sideboarding

Vs. Fae: -4 Ponder, -4 Sygg, River Cutthroat, -2 Sower, +3 Negate, +3 O-Ring +4 Pollen Lullaby

Vs. Toast: -4 Ponder, -2 Mulldrifter, +4 Burrenton Forge-Tender, +2 Negate

Vs. Kithkin: -2 Sygg, River Cutthroat, -2 Sygg, River Guide, -1 Ponder, +4 Pollen Lullaby, +1 Sower of Temptation

Vs GW Midrange (Gaddock Teeg): -4 Cryptic Command, +3 Negate, +1 Sower

I would'nt give up on your old deck soo quickly from what you said in other thread you just got bad pairings though merfolk does look a good deck. I mean sure if GW is every other deck but if your getting good results with it most of the time stick with it. You have to start rethinking a deck when either you start losing the match ups your suppose to be winning or the decks that beat you are too darn popular, or your just plain bored with the deck.

k, so, merfolk just isn't that great in block. yes, a skilled player can do pretty darn well with it, but that same player just has way better odds with many other decks. Fae is the most similar deck here and is way better.

also, your list is pretty horrible as far as fishy lists go

This is an exact copy of the Fish deck that placed second in one of the past few trials, except i've got mulldrifters in place of Lark. The reason I'm not playing Fae, is I don't have the cards for it, and don't have 500 dollars to dump into a deck I will only be running in block.
