The creatre Sower of Temptation didn't leave play. As a result, control is not lost over the creature that was targetted by Sower.
It doesnt matter what Sower is turned into, it doesnt matter what happens to Sower and under what control Sower is, as long as it stays in the same zone (in play). |

umm dunno if i read that wrong but the way i read it is wrong.
Sower of Temptation sets up a stamp on the gamestate. When statte-based effects check... they check for damage, etc. When Sower came into play it established a stamp "as long as this is in play"
the moment IT is not in play, the creature returns to its owner. |

There is no such thing as a 'stamp on the game state' and state-based effects have nothing to do with it. The triggered ability of Sower of Temptation sets up a control changing effect with the duration 'as long as this object stays in play'.
Lignify doesn't make the object leave play, so nothing happens to the control changing effect. |
