Greetz to all at magic-league. I recently started studying at the university of waterloo and am looking for a group of players in the university (or sorrounding areas) to test with and prepare for ptq's and such.
If anyone has a spot open in their playtest group or knows of a store even in this area this information would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,

| Waterloo is a college town in southern Ontario, and it is probably the 2nd best math university in the world (first being MIT). Northern Iowa...lulz. |

I attend the University of Waterloo, and we actually have a pretty good Magic community in the Kitchener/Waterloo area.
I run a draft every Tuesday night, starting at 6:30, in the Physics building. You're welcome to come on out and join us. It's in PHYS 308, starting at 6:30. We generally get around 15-20 people show up.
There's also a group of us that plays competitively, going to PTQs and such, and we even traveled down to GP Indianapolis this summer.
Come on out to the draft on Tuesday. My name is Paul, I'll be running the draft.
If you can't make Tuesday nights, there's also FNM every week in Kitchener at Phoenix Games. I don't attend that as regularly, but I drop by from time to time. |

Great to know Paul.
I will definately come by tuesday for the draft and meet everyone. How did you guys do at the GP? I couldn't make it because of time conflicts but it would've been great to go at any rate.
Cheers,

| On a side note, before making this topic, I actually found out that there was something going on the physics building (something about phoenix games) but I could not find that actual location. |

Collectively as a group we opened pretty abysmal pools. One of us came in 19th in the GP though.
We've done fairly well in PTQs recently, with at least one person in the top 8 of each of the last few, and our friend won the last PTQ in Toronto. |

It sounds like you guys do fairly well. I've had moderate success at ptq's and champs and whatnot however past a top4 champs performance I have not particularly done anything noteworthy so getting together with a solid group of players will be nice.
Having said that, unfortunately I am in the DD math+business and I have a lab until 6:50 at laurier on tuesday every week so I will probably be able to make it there for 7:00. Do you guys do drafts afterwards or on any other days, or just the once a week? |

The only scheduled things in town are the weekly draft Tuesday at 6:30, and FNM at Phoenix Friday. I think there was some talk about weekend drafts at Phoenix, but I don't know if those are happening or not. Phoenix runs Standard, except the first Friday of each month which is a draft.
People play other times, but those are the two regularly scheduled things. It was really difficult to find a day and time that worked for everyone, and this time slot works best for the weekly drafts.
Guess you'll have to skip some class to draft regularly =P |

| Well unfortunately the attendance to the bu111 labs is mandatory. Having said that I'll come by at 7 to meet up with the people. The other question is how do you guys prepare for constructed events? Essentially the 1.x and block ptq seasons and the various events for t2? Do you get together on weekends or just random times throughout the week? |
