I tried to build a deck around Kavu Predator, but its still not working well against some Decks.
Creatures (18)
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Kavu Predator
4 Wall of Shards
2 Vexing Shusher
2 Kitchen Finks
2 Reveillark
Other Spells (20)
4 Evolution Charm
4 Condemn
4 Fiery Justice
3 Primal Command
3 Harmonize
2 Austere Command
Lands (22)
4 Grove of the Burnwillows
3 Vivid Grove
2 Vivid Meadow
4 Brushland
2 Karplusan Forest
4 Forest
2 Plains
1 Mountain
Sideboard (15)
2 Vexing Shusher
2 Kitchen Finks
3 Firespout
3 Guttural Response
1 Austere Command
2 Brion Stoutarm
1 Akroma, Angel of Wrath
1 Akroma, Angel of Fury
The deck is build like a Control Deck with the winning condition Kavu Predator.
It is ok against RDW, Kithkin, BG Elves and Doran, since you can stabilize the field with removal spells or just win with a quick Kavu Predator.
The problem is, that the Predator is the only winning condition, which is especially bad against other control decks with many card advantage and mass or spot removals(Reveillark, Faeries , 5 Colour Control)
I put in Evolution Charm, Reveillark and Primal Command to recover or find a Predator, but its still not enough against other control decks.
Tell me what you think |

| I think predator is only viable in aggro decks. In controllish decks you want to use better finishers like cloudtresher and chameleon colossus. |

| Last breath seems like a good idea. It functions well with kavu and is decent removal. Gaddok teeg seems better than shusher in the main. |

Well, basically, your deck revolves around making a creature in your deck a big green trampler instead of a small green trampler by dedicating 16 of the 36 cards in it in order to do so.
If you want a big green trampler as a win condition in a controllish deck, you are probably better off playing 4 Havenwood Wurm and then using the 12 other cards, which wouldnt otherwise be played in any deck, for something more powerful.
Edit: GRW Predator aggro, on the other hand, can be quite good. |

yeah this deck is going to be hard to make good
you just have no way to protect your predator.
on the other hand if your were to make it aggro
you can just follow up with more creatures or burn, |

I agree the deck should be aggro base.
Stigma Lasher would be a great addition to the deck. Reason being is you wont always have Kavu to play and he does die fairly easy. If you run Stigma then you can stop boosting your opponents life with your own spells. Otherwise you could be making the game harder for you to finish due to your own spells .
I understand you want to win big with the Kavu but it wont always happen the way you plan. |
