so around where i live magic is pretty big thing the local store holds weekly tournaments where anything goes so long as your wallet can handle it. Meaning any cards from any set, turn it into a deck and have at it. And while a few of us may have in our possession a couple of really expensive cards for the most part its still pretty mild. no power of 9, nothing of that caliber cards, even the owner's most expensive card seems to be original shivan dragon only. that said the rules are simple there is not banned or restricted cards just create the best deck that you can. I've tried lots of different types of deck but I believe the flash-hulk combo trumps almost any other deck out there. As I came into the possession of 4 force of wills and 4 flashes through sum lucky trading I want to create a flash-hulk deck that will run with the impeccable brokeness I have read about it. As i've no experience with it back when other cards were not restricted i.e gush, etc. I need the experience and knowledge of more experienced players to help me construct a deck preferably mono U that can utilize any card from any format that will break flash barring using cards that will bankrupt me.

ty for your time.

Depending on the landbase you can afford, here is a decklist from the scratch:

// Lands
1 [TSP] Gemstone Caverns
1 [A] Underground Sea
1 [R] Swamp (2)
4 [TSP] Island (3)
4 [ON] Flooded Strand
4 [ON] Polluted Delta
4 [IA] Underground River

// Creatures
2 [SC] Carrion Feeder
2 [AT] Mogg Fanatic
2 [PLC] Body Double
2 [MOR] Reveillark
4 [DIS] Protean Hulk

// Spells
4 [MR] Chrome Mox
4 [FUT] Summoner's Pact
1 [ON] Chain of Vapor
4 [MI] Flash
4 [AL] Force of Will
4 [FUT] Pact of Negation
4 [U] Demonic Tutor
4 [5E] Brainstorm

If you can afford that thats ok. You can go more expensive by changing the landbase and put some orims chant instead of FoWs in. If you have less money for the landbase(dont want to go 2 colors) you can substitue the Demonics with Merchant scroll, you still would need to have soem land shufflers for brainstorm though. If you cant afford them either, you can go with careful study/Ponder instead of Brainstrom. Sideboard is obviously metagame dependend, but cards like duress and chain of vapor should be in for sure i think.

But if i where you i would screw a lot more with the vintage restricted list then just playing hulk flash. There are a lot of cards that are restricted and arent that expensive that can make a brutaly broken deck, just to name some few: Fastbond, Frantic Search, yawgomoth will, Tinker, entomb, channel, tolarian academy, balance and so on Wink

(the savest way)

Step 1 Flash hulk out
Step 2 Grab Body Double and Carrion Feeder
Step 3 Sac Body double(which is a hulk)
Step 4 Grap Reveillark and another carrion feeder(just to make sure they cant kill your sac outlett)
Step 4 Sac lark return body double targeting Hulk
Step 5 Sac Body double get body double and mogg fanatic
Step 6 (body double targets rev), sac fanatic to deal 1 damage, sac Double to feeder, return both and repeat).

Thisway they need to have 2 removal spells to stop you, if they are tapped out you can grap lark and mogg fanatic in step 4 and start the combo(although saver is always better). With that combo you dont need an attackstep and they need 2 removal spells to stop you, the karmic guide combo gets killed by 1 removal spell. Disciple combos eat a lot of space from your deck. I think its the best combo to go, since all combos are vounarable to grave hate(ok but disciple, but that eats way to many slots). And leyline kills them all anyway.

First of all, I believe there was an errata on Karmic Guide that states you only get the effect if you played it from your hand, so that combo is out of question.

I believe the best way to go about the deck is;

4 Flash
4 Hulk
4 Virulant Sliver
1 Heart Sliver

4 Summoning Pact (to get Hulk)
4 Chrome Mox
The rest is other cards to speed up/set up/and defend the combo

You are right. There WAS an errata on it. Just like there WAS an errata on Flash.

I think I see what he means.

Flash in Protean Hulk and grab all four copies of Disciple of the Vault, all four copies of Phyrexian Marauder and all four copies of Shifting Wall. PM and SW, both of which costs X, has CMC = 0, so they can all be fetched and put into play...but since they come into play with no counters, they are all 0/0, and they go into the graveyard due to checking of SBEs, which in turn trigger the DotVs.

However if the opponent has a life total more than 32 then it will become very hard to kill him using this combo.

The only thing I am curious is whether this will work, considering they are all put into play at the same time. Rolling Eyes

Ok its not flash but if anything goes what about this (without going into P9 for money reasons)

// Lands
2 [VI] Undiscovered Paradise
4 [OD] Tarnished Citadel
4 [7E] City of Brass

// Spells
4 [TO] Cabal Ritual
4 [B] Demonic Tutor
2 [US] Yawgmoth's Will
2 [SC] Tendrils of Agony
2 [UD] Yawgmoth's Bargain
4 [MR] Seething Song
4 [HPB] Mana Crypt
4 [MM] Dark Ritual
4 [CS] Rite of Flame
4 [B] Sol Ring
4 [UL] Memory Jar
4 [B] Wheel of Fortune
4 [TE] Lotus Petal
4 [R] Mana Vault

It obviously needs a bit of tweaking since I just threw it together in a few minutes, but on my first goldfish I got a storm count of 40 on turn 1.
