Hi All,

I'm new to Magic-League, but have been reading the tournament reports and forums for a while now. And I think this is an awesome MTG resource.

I need help and suggstions on a deck a plan playing at FNM.

Lands

4 Battlefield Forge
10 Plains
10 Mountains

Creatures

4 Mogg Fanatic
3 Goblin King
3 Magus of the Moon
4 Flickerwisp

Other Spells

4 Wrath of God
4 Fortify
4 Rise of the Hobgoblin
4 Boggart Shenanigans
3 Lotus Bloom
2 Surge of Thoughtweft
1 Mirrorweave (I only own one)

Sideboard

4 Faerie MAcabre
1 Magus of the Moon
4 Gutteral Response
4 Disenchant
2 Pyroclasm

Any suggestions?

Regards,

You play 14 weenies plus an enchantment that is good only lategame with lots of mana.

And then you play Wrath of God, which clears the board, sabotaging your game-plan.

You play Boggart Shenanigans without any way of sacrificing a goblin (apart from Fanatic), so I guess your plan is to use it with Wrath of God.

You play Lotus Bloom without any Storm mechanic cards, Surge of the Thoughtweft with no kithkins, Flickerwisp with no cip-ability that it works with (apart from Rise of the Hobgoblins, but that requires still more mana).

This is in other words a Rise of the Hobgoblins combo deck. The entire deck is built around it.

Now that is clear, why do you play white? Why don't you play mono-red or red/black? White doesn't add anything to the deck. Instead of playing those cheesy combo cards, play Goblin War-Marshall, Marsh Flitter and Siege-Gang Commander. And Instead of Fortify and Surge of the Thoughtweft, play Shared Animosity and Torrent of Souls.

Rise of the Hobgoblins could easily be implemented in BR goblins/Torrent of Souls decks.

This deck would seem better if black was added, but you can go the route already in progress.

The wrath does go against your theme though. It would be more of a sideboard card IMO.

I will throw a list together in a minute or two and see if that helps you at all. I will make it budget for the most part.

// Lands
3 [FUT] Keldon Megaliths
20 [CS] Snow-Covered Mountain

// Creatures
4 [FUT] Magus of the Moon
4 [EVE] Balefire Liege
4 [EVE] Battlegate Mimic
3 [EVE] Hearthfire Hobgoblin
3 [10E] Goblin King
3 [SHM] nobilis of war

// Spells
4 [EVE] Fire at Will
4 [EVE] Rise of the Hobgoblins
4 [CS] Skred
4 [TSP] Lotus Bloom

// Sideboard
SB: 4 [SHM] Demigod of Revenge
SB: 1 [CS] Snow-Covered Mountain
SB: 3 [SOK] Pithing Needle
SB: 3 [TSB] Tormod's Crypt
SB: 4 [EVE] Unwilling Recruit

It has a little more of the w/r subtheme, but should be pretty solid. Fire at will is huge right now in the early game.

let me know what you think. i need to look at the curve a little more, but...
