Upcoming Master and RFT Trial Sets

by CMA-Flippi on 2009-08-28 07:55 EST
As some of you have noticed, the calendar has two tournament Formats listed that are getting more and more popular on magic-league.

August 29, we hold a Random Format Tournament Trial. (RFT).
RFT is a dynamic format. When it's done as small tournament (mini), you have 1 hour time to built a deck. The cardpool for that are seven randomly generated sets(2 Big, 4 Small, 1 Core), with the Legacy banlist applied to it. For the Saturday, we randomly decided the sets:

***The sets for the RFT are: Revised, Mercadian Masques, Tempest, Conflux, Urza's Legacy, Visions, Fifth Dawn

August 30, we hold another Limited Master. This means the Swiss portion of the Master will be played as M10 Sealed. You will be able to build your decks at the homepage for that. In order to aviod unnecessary penalties for incorrect security code, I suggest to update your playing software with the latest patches.
After 7 or 8 rounds (depends on number of participants), a cut of the Top8 players will be done.
Following to that is an M10 Booster draft!
For this, a new software appeared. It is based on Netdraft but does not support Apprentice anymore. That way, it can be easily secured that the deck you're playing is the deck you drafted!
Especially useful is that only the host needs that new Netdraft software. Older versions are compatible with it.

I love the trial and master formats. Glad M-L supports something besides standard, when the interest is there.
