6 Booster Sealeds and Other Changes

by Laplie on 2009-02-28 13:52 EST
Magic-League is happy to present 6 BOOSTER SEALED tournaments. This means that we are able to support 3-3 sealeds for ALA and CFX as well as 2-2-2 sealeds when the third Alara set is released.

Unfortunately, it also means support for "starter pack" style sealeds is no longer available. To emulate older style sealeds, a judge could create a 3-1-1 sealed tournament: the difference being that it would be possible for a player to get duplicates cards between the first 3 packs. The new system allows sealed tournaments of 5 or 6 boosters.

On the bright side, the new functionality allows the judge to choose the set for each booster individually. So you might get to play in interesting new sealed formats like TE/ST/EX/TSP/PLC/FUT (Tempest/Timespiral), or whatever else the judge can imagine.

Happy Sealeding,
Laplie
