| The following is a list of invites for the 8/30 Sealed Invitational. I would like to accentuate the fact that there will be no late joins for this tournament. If somebody who is not invited tries to join, that user is subject to a potential ban. Players will obtain their pools from the site when I pair round one. Players will build their decks on the site. The deckbuilding period will last thirty minutes. If a player does not submit a deck to the site, that player could face a disqualification. Results for round one will be reported to #result on IRC. If you want to drop, do /msg #result I DROP. It will not be sufficient to only drop from the site tournament. I will modify the matches on the site for rating purposes later. It is advised that players download netdraft and all recent patches; the top 8 will still be played in MWS.

Figure out how many slots more than one person qualify for, ie: PV qualifies for like 3 slots, cmc qualifies for like 2 or 3 I don't remember which, and the top X qualify for the tourney. X = the number of extra slots available.?

So people can know in advance if they are qualified or not and can plan around it; it's like that in every tournament in the world, the rating cut is never the day before the pro tour, or the day before nationals, it's always in advance.

LordLink on 2008-08-26 02:31 EST Considering the tournament is at midnight for me its great to know a week in advance that I'm in it. Actually playing in it means that I have to kill plans for the following day and its good to be able to plan that beforehand.
I'm sure theres a lot of other non-americans in a similar situation.
Also Ashmatan, the whole point of the comp is for those who've won on magic-league and to get an overall winner. Theres no point to it if most of magic-league gets invited. If PV dominates the trials (which he doesn't) and you don't have the time/skill to get your rating high then that means you aren't good enough for the comp.

CMA-Flippi on 2008-08-27 12:04 EST Netdraft decks will be sent to the TC (Gerrardfo) who translates them to MWS codes. Meanwhile, you open your deck in MWS, too -> codes will match. (This has been tested with ~40 decks) + all rares + all uncommons

Wouldnt it be better just to pass all the decks to the TC, who then can by himself get the sec codes. Or, e.g. submit decks on the site or like.
