by
Zapgaze on 2008-08-24 04:25 EST Wait, what about the other 2 trials that are still coming up Sunday Morning and Monday Afternoon?
by
Linkman on 2008-08-24 05:06 EST Those count too. Also, a good question, how will the draft portion be played? Netdraft only gives apprentice sec codes, so are you going to start another tournament on site where you can upload your APPR deck?
by
Holzi on 2008-08-24 06:06 EST so it means top 8 is draft?
by
Linkman on 2008-08-24 07:11 EST It is.
by
Ashmatan on 2008-08-24 10:14 EST Here's a novel idea: Why don't we have a tourney for the spots available that more than one person qualify for?
Figure out how many slots more than one person qualify for, ie: PV qualifies for like 3 slots, cmc qualifies for like 2 or 3 I don't remember which, and the top X qualify for the tourney. X = the number of extra slots available.?

Ronnan on 2008-08-24 11:10 EST top8 draft will be done via site
afaik
by
Lynolf on 2008-08-24 17:04 EST Wow, this makes absolutely NO sense. Why make the cut one week before instead on the day before the Invitational?
by
_S3BaS_ on 2008-08-24 22:35 EST Nice joke Ronnan

Wow, this makes absolutely NO sense. Why make the cut one week before instead on the day before the Invitational?
---
So people can know in advance if they are qualified or not and can plan around it; it's like that in every tournament in the world, the rating cut is never the day before the pro tour, or the day before nationals, it's always in advance.

by
LordLink on 2008-08-26 02:31 EST Considering the tournament is at midnight for me its great to know a week in advance that I'm in it. Actually playing in it means that I have to kill plans for the following day and its good to be able to plan that beforehand.
I'm sure theres a lot of other non-americans in a similar situation.
Also Ashmatan, the whole point of the comp is for those who've won on magic-league and to get an overall winner. Theres no point to it if most of magic-league gets invited. If PV dominates the trials (which he doesn't) and you don't have the time/skill to get your rating high then that means you aren't good enough for the comp.

MrBrett on 2008-08-26 10:44 EST Is the "draft from site" tool going to be available any time soon?
I'm sure there's a lot of people who would love to have draft minis for mws.
by
ovmlcabrera on 2008-08-27 10:41 EST top 8 in mws,how check the code deck?¿
by
CMA-Flippi on 2008-08-27 12:04 EST Netdraft decks will be sent to the TC (Gerrardfo) who translates them to MWS codes. Meanwhile, you open your deck in MWS, too -> codes will match. (This has been tested with ~40 decks) + all rares + all uncommons
by
isperia on 2008-08-28 16:29 EST Are you guys sure, that u have absolute converter??? o0 I sure dunno what algorithm used in apprentice, but isnt it a checksum that is calculated in some way? So is it possible to get content of deck from it?
Wouldnt it be better just to pass all the decks to the TC, who then can by himself get the sec codes. Or, e.g. submit decks on the site or like.
by
Conkisstador on 2008-08-29 15:08 EST good luck everyone! too bad i cant be here to win this thing. everyone will have to recognize an asterisk** by the first limited invitational winner ;-)
peace

that's easy everyone posts their deck.
