Woah, that UWr list is a mess. Ajani can rock though, I suppose. But it looks built to beat aggro, not Jund...

As for Elves, I have a hard time seeing less than 4 Garruks right given it's not only an Overrun and a mana accelerant, but a bunch of creatures too. Still, glad to see that deck still around; it's sorta awesome to just cast a bunch of guys and tap 5 for You Die. Besides, whenever green does well, joy is to be found.

Jund is...meh. People just aren't gunning for it enough so it keeps winning. GJ though.

by Spyx on 2009-10-19 20:59 EST

so which deck beats jund?

by gmoney on 2009-10-19 21:16 EST

Love the elves list! where are the gobos?

by Ffancrzy on 2009-10-19 21:54 EST

Why Negate?

by Epic-Juzam37 on 2009-10-19 22:27 EST

i was going to play this elves list today ~_~

by MuTiLaTiOn_X on 2009-10-19 23:08 EST

1st of all i rape jund soo bad and only elfs beat becuase was stuck on 2 lands and second game mulliganed to 5. the deck is soo solid.should of won the whole thing.elfs cant deal with baneslayer. or sphinx

by MuTiLaTiOn_X on 2009-10-19 23:10 EST

negate is for anything jeez lol. blightning, planeswalkers cruel w.e maelstrom pulse and i won couple games playing baneslayer and protecting with negate

by Spyx on 2009-10-20 00:20 EST

Whats the logic behind deft duelist? I can understand he blocks some creatures (like BBE) very profitably but he doesn't seem to do anything in the mid-late game. Wouldn't more removal be better?

by alvaro202 on 2009-10-20 03:24 EST

Deft Duelist functions as a 2 drop that defends from all aggro 2 drops. It defends particularly well against Ball Lightning , BBE, goblin guide, and many other commonly used aggro cards. It also has shroud which makes it impossible to remove efficiently.

This is a good card in all match ups, as even against control it acts as a near irremovable 2 damage a turn.

As for the jund matchup, imagine the jund player has 4 mana open, a BBE and a maelstrom pulse in hand, and his board is a putrid leech. You as the control player have put down a turn 2 deft duelist, which would give you the opportunity to kill the PL with a combat trick lightning bolt, or you can turn 3 a wall of denial.

With a deft duelist and wall of denial out, you have essentially stopped the jund player from being able to do anything to dent your HP pool. As a control deck, when your aggro opponent is no longer able to lower your HP, you are in a very positive position.

Glad to see a control deck doing well.. Gz muti

by Mind_Game on 2009-10-20 06:47 EST

Well the deck thats name just keeps changing has won again. (Jund Blighting, Blighting Jund, Jund Aggro, Aggro Jund Blighting) hell lets call it JDW.

I just love Multilation x's deck, its truly innovative and smart, so GJ Mut.

by boeda on 2009-10-20 08:12 EST

@:MuTiLaTiOn_X

Im also playing UWr but my deck is more controllish. You might want to consider wall of denial instead of duelist, also double negative and O-ring work great for me. gl!

by Arkham on 2009-10-20 09:00 EST

Luminarch ascension is a good card in your deck, Mutilation. It sounds better than duelist. In the late game you will win yes or yes. You have a lot of protection to put counters without problems.

by RuSheR on 2009-10-20 09:17 EST

^ makes no sence.
play the deck against aggro with duelist and without duelist then come back here and say the same thing

by QuaziPance on 2009-10-20 09:40 EST

Swerve is super win. Could main board swerve instead of negate work? I haven't played this enough to know the mana consistency, but against jund at least it seems that swerve would ruin their day vs. negate which is just a minor slow down.

Also, I think that elves defense against baneslayer is winning before you beat them. Or putting out too many threats that your baneslayer is going to be overwhelmed. example: I have to kill garruk/nisa with baneslayer this turn or I loose next turn.

by MuTiLaTiOn_X on 2009-10-20 10:46 EST

luminarch was my 1st build main board but their r to many players who play goblin guide and bloodbraid. try it out most of the time its useles when it drops to second turn against aggro and this format is almost all aggro. but late game it is good. deft duelist is just soo good lol. boeda i do have wall of denials mainboard.

by rafaruggi on 2009-10-20 10:51 EST

Swerve doesn't stop Planeswalkers or Day of Judgement on your angels. I prefer negate.

by MuTiLaTiOn_X on 2009-10-20 10:52 EST

quazi do u see all my kill spells against creatures. they wont have like 6 creatures out to overrun. ill always have a response. most of the time

by Conkisstador on 2009-10-20 12:43 EST

Of all the anmes for Jund- aggro is NOT the name. I don't like calling it Jund Control... but it plays the control seat. Jund aggro will be Colossal Mights and DoubleStrikers and 8 burnspells. Not the deck with 28 2-for-1s and only one relevant early threat.

@ Elves: in YOUR lsit Eldrazi Monument is superior in every aspect but the turn 4 win. It can still do that but needs 1 more creature. Nissa Revane + Monument = GG. Good luck Baneslayer trying to hold THAT down.

Swerve is a blowout card. Higher risk higher reward. Often they hit the same spells but engate does it more consistently(mana) and hits Cruel, Wrath, etc. Swerve makes you pulse your own Leech and Blightning your Dragons away. The deck is already geared to beat Jund (Duelist + Wall) so negate is the bettter card.

by Duodax on 2009-10-20 15:30 EST

Play Jund or lose to it. We found a ner Tier 0,9 Deck. Jund is the best, fuck the rest.

by ik on 2009-10-20 17:45 EST

Duodax: Do not take this the wrong way when I say it, but please go die in a pit somewhere... We don't want you anymore.

by Eldariel on 2009-10-20 18:34 EST

Duodax: You haven't done enough testing if you think that.

by metzel_usa on 2009-10-20 18:38 EST

uhm that UWr list won the LCQ at Pt Austion?

by ik on 2009-10-20 18:42 EST

Uhm no it didnt.

by Rath on 2009-10-20 18:46 EST

MuTiLaTiOn_X -- How did Iona fare for you. It seems like once you drop it it is a I-win card for sure. However, is it a win-more card or do you find it a crucial part of the deck?

by dwarfas on 2009-10-21 13:58 EST

BLIGHTNING IS MADE WITH REAL LIGHTNING

by Sinful_CINDY on 2009-10-29 05:42 EST

WHY THE DUELEST? please tell me, i don't think a 2/1 is that good and it dies to PL, the 3/3 guy that makes tokens when it hits the graveyard etc.

And what does BBE stand for?

by whoempah_666 on 2009-10-31 19:50 EST
