Lost against the winner.

kurtyspice nice deck choice

by CB on 2008-10-19 18:48 EDT

Yeah, I am quite curious about your notes and results Kaesh. How was the new counter/efficiency package? Was this just a fun thing or you think it actually has any potential when tuned? Doesn't the deck miss the 2cc removal: agony, terror, etc?

Also, when i see that many 1,2, and 3 ofs in a deck (the rock deck) it makes me think it is lacking in consistency. Is it actually more tuned than i perceive at first glance?

by Vecc on 2008-10-19 19:30 EDT

I don't know about tunning, but 1 Garruk most of the times seems 3 too few. But hey, I'm not the one who ate the trial so what the hell. 8)

lol@shards.

It's my favorite set I think, don't get me wrong. But at the top 3: lol@it.

Very interested to see GB Rock against 5cc, Lark, etc.

by curly on 2008-10-19 21:58 EDT

GB lark. with no stillmoon???

by LordLink on 2008-10-19 22:51 EDT

Aw man :/ now I really am the dead-weight of team SHIGY. Got to win a trial as soon as these bloody exams end.

That Rock deck is interesting. not running 4-ofs isn't sacrificing constistancy as it still curves nicely and always has a beatstick in play and removal in hand. Toast has slowed the meta down enough for Troll Ascetic? seems to me like he still doesn't fit the meta.

by trueeevil on 2008-10-19 23:46 EDT

md knight of the white orchid, really?

by loxiel on 2008-10-20 00:36 EDT

Poor Shards...

Only one card made into MD in one deck which is previewed by Mike Flores. Does shards have that little competitive/meta-strong card?

by ChristPunchr on 2008-10-20 05:18 EDT

Maybe I should be more observant, but incremental blight seems kind of tech.

Yes, Shards completely sucks and the reason is because...*drum rollllllllll* blocks are entirely too fucking linear *cymbal smash*

Slops to the r&d for not switching their shit up often enough.

fae list is cool~

by Vedrfolner on 2008-10-20 08:22 EDT

Until Ravinca dual lands are reprinted in 11th, the manafix is way too slow and resource-demanding to beat Lorwyn block decks. There are also way too few good 1R/1G/1w/1B/1U drops.

The combination of cip tapped mana-base and UU/RR/BB/GG/WW and combinations thereof being present in all playable 2-drops (not to speak of 3-drops!), rules out new aggro decks entirely.

I am sure that 3c, 4c and 5c control decks will emerge on top once the meta is more defined, though. But that only gives UB Faeries a chance at a comeback...

Why imperious perfect was banned from the new lists from GB Rock?

by xiko on 2008-10-20 12:09 EDT

AND the old lists you mean? Die to infest.

by kurtyspice on 2008-10-20 12:48 EDT

Troll Ascetic is very good right now, especially in the mirror. Most of the time it'll just act as a Stillmoon Cavalier without the ability to fly, but it's also a very good answer to Chameleon Colossus.

by Shooter on 2008-10-20 13:35 EDT

yeah, troll ascetic is nice in mirror and worse vs everything else. nice choice :)
also,LOL@flores predicted it. Yhis list is strictly worse than common one =[
and kaesh,BANNERET U JAJAJA :)
