Discussion to the elfball deck is here:
http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=130839
Like always suggestions are weclome.
BTW dr8r, why didnt you play needles over chokes in the sideboard. I thought we talked about that.

KeySam

by SaCu on 2008-10-03 19:49 EDT

why doesnt the elfball play the new elf that gets you a card when it comes into play ?

SaCu

by Lynolf on 2008-10-03 20:07 EDT

Finally some new decks are around for a change. Congrats to dv8r for his innovative deck (I think).

Flippi's deck name: WW (Weird Weenie). By the way, it sucks. :P

And to finish...

Portugal > Magic-league ^_^

by KeySam on 2008-10-03 20:47 EDT

Sacu 2 mana elfs need to do good stuff to be played in this deck like wirewood hivemaster, just beeing catripped doesnt make the cut.

@Lynolf, its my deck :p i played this deck for a some time now having realy good results and always loosing shortly before top8/4 or whatever. Anyway gj dv8r :P

by Blaylock on 2008-10-03 20:55 EDT

How many times did you flip Tenderfoot?

by dv8r on 2008-10-03 21:16 EDT

I got a bit lucky in this trial:
r1 I played against some horrible ww deck
r2 I played vs zoo, and he got flooded 2 times out of 3
r3 I resolved choke vs plb when he tapped out for shackles in one game, and topdecked chord when he tapped out for shackles in another after being slightly mana screwed
r4 I got thorn of amythyst turn 2 and 3 vs storm TWICE

just goes to show, anyone can win with a little luck

The deck feels kinda slow and clunky to me, and dies horribly to mass removal (in the semis damnation was basically gg for my opponent), targetted discard and explosives for one. And everything you topdeck late game is a 1/1 for 1...

Of course, don't take my word for it, feel free to test it yourself. However, it's a rogue deck and as you know I can't resist me a rogue deck on occassions :)

EDIT: Oh, it's not my deck btw, it's Keysam's

by rdeg87 on 2008-10-03 21:24 EDT

KeySam just wondering would Borial Dryad be better than Twinblade Slasher. From the looks of the deck I doubt the Slashers ability is ever used and he's only used as a 1 drop Elf (I could be very wrong though). Cool and very Innovative deck by the way

by dv8r on 2008-10-03 21:28 EDT

I can answer this one :)

which would you rather have vs turn 1 deus of calamity

by Ryk on 2008-10-03 21:31 EDT

I loss for murphy in the top 8
=/

GJ GFFS AND MURPHY
=)

by Orlandu on 2008-10-03 22:00 EDT

How is it innovative? It's just an extended port of a subpar standard deck ;)

"Unfortunately, I forgot my deck at home, so i had to built this deck out of cards in my binder."

I'm copywriting that. Its beautiful. Nice finish as well btw.

by TwoTrees on 2008-10-03 22:52 EDT

Umm CMA-Flippi you are pretty much officially the coolest guy ever to live life.

by Verystrait42 on 2008-10-03 23:10 EDT

by curly on 2008-10-04 00:41 EDT

I already have..so ha!

by warwizard87 on 2008-10-04 02:09 EDT

why isn't elfball playing riftsweaper vs the combo decks?

by TugaChampion on 2008-10-04 06:11 EDT

AHAHAHAH!!! Portugal does it again! And twice!!

by mtgsoldier on 2008-10-04 09:00 EDT

OMG PORTUGAL OWNS EVERYTHING

PT OWNS ML

by Ashmatan on 2008-10-04 10:15 EDT

Portugal can HAVE m-l. Now win worlds and then talk junk about Portugal owning. Until then, the statement that "Portugal > ML" is just laughable.
BTW, gj to all in t4

by ZW on 2008-10-04 10:35 EDT

Why are twinblade slashers there? They seem really bad.

by dv8r on 2008-10-04 12:08 EDT

ffs, I already answer this: name me a better answer for turn 1 deus of calamity in a mono green deck

by Lantero on 2008-10-04 12:28 EDT

Vs a turn 1 deus of calamity, in each kind of deck, the best option is concede. Waste 4 slots of your combo-deck basing on an eventual game-state vs a Next Level Red is a bit stupid. But i havent played the deck (only have played against) and im sure u have more arguments for keep Slashers over the boreal druids, so this post is only talk for talk.

by Orlandu on 2008-10-04 12:50 EDT

Er yeah.. the fact that decks like flippi's (which is obviously an intentional joke), can do well here is a testament to the fact that "owning" m-l doesn't mean a whole lot ;)

by CMA-Flippi on 2008-10-04 13:05 EDT

My deck proves systems win, not players, not cardchoices.
It could've been any pile of 20 fast creatures.
Bushi Tenderfoot is great :P

____

Stfu. Portuguese people did well in PT's and GP's. And worlds as well.

You have the example of: Paulo Carvalho (Top8 worlds)

Tiago Chan (Level 6)

Andre Coimbra (Limited pro, Some GP Top8's and wins)

Marcio Carvalho (Best player of the world imho)

So, stfu american clown

by BILLA on 2008-10-04 14:49 EDT

WOW

Portugal rules!!
Good job =)

by Streakz on 2008-10-04 14:57 EDT

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Marcio Carvalho (Best player of the world imho)

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

best cheater in the world maybe

by BILLA on 2008-10-04 15:42 EDT

A azia é muita...

Muahahahahahah

by KeySam on 2008-10-04 16:14 EDT

Twinblade shlasher vs boreal druid, first of all colorless mana doesnt do a hole lot in the deck, second of all twinblade shlasher is a good attacker if you dont combo and wither means its unlikely to get blocked and is just great with pendelhaven. The deus thing is also not to be underestimated i won a lot of games just because i blocked deus make him a 5/5 meaning i dont need to block anymore.

by TugaChampion on 2008-10-04 17:21 EDT

I don't think Marcio Carvalho is the best player in the world but he's surely one of the best. Oh streakz and if he's the best cheater in the world he's the best at something unlike you.

Azia ftw!

by R3wind on 2008-10-04 17:35 EDT

It's a real shame that Crainal Extaction has fallin out of favor. It owns the top two decks.

by marcooj on 2008-10-04 18:26 EDT

GO PORTUGAL!!!!1!!!11!!1!1!!1!11!!1!!!!!!

I won my prerel last week and then follwed that up with a crushing victory at FNM i think i can quite safely say i am now the best player in the UK and probably also the world.

by GFSS on 2008-10-04 18:42 EDT

and u are gay marcooj =/

by TugaChampion on 2008-10-04 19:24 EDT

marcooj wow! You won a 20 players pre release and than won an 8 players fnm which was actually 5 or 6 players and 2 or 3 ghosts to fill the rest...

by Circa on 2008-10-04 19:49 EDT

Also note:

Portugese do not understand sarcasm.

by Lantero on 2008-10-04 20:02 EDT

by TugaChampion on 2008-10-05 06:48 EDT

Also note:

Portugal still>>>>>all

by Lantero on 2008-10-05 20:14 EDT

Peninsula Iberica ftw!

by Blancoke on 2008-10-07 13:59 EDT

That's the reason why less and less people are actually playing on ML... Stupid argues 'bout players of one country owning the rest (lol).

I think that winning pr is even bigger than winning a ML trial nowaday (like 40 people are playing in this trials (Comparing to the 80-100 and more attendency for Trials in the past)...

I sometimes look at the decks, read comments, everytime the same 'battle' in posts between P and the rest of ML... It's sad.

I wanted to post my opinion.
Blancoke

by kaboo on 2008-10-11 10:04 EDT

I agree .
Magic has nothing to do about countries.
It's about persons.
Feel proud about what u have achieved and not about what someone who was born under the same sun had.
So stfu and play MtG.

Being creative is more fun than being cocky.
