Doran deck is jank, but the others are pretty legit.

by el_cuervito on 2008-10-01 20:10 EDT

iupdatemomz ftw!!!

by ConJureOne on 2008-10-01 20:11 EDT

that sea stompy deck seems fun

by MistyFatDog on 2008-10-01 20:25 EDT

they keep on calling it sea stompy, ITS PV's Deck from last year, Kiki-Mite Get There!

by Iupdatemomz on 2008-10-01 20:33 EDT

Good match Dr. Evil extirpate pwned me :-P

by ChiDoRiE on 2008-10-01 20:50 EDT

There's really no card better than raven's crime? The deck doesn't have loam so I don't see the abuse potential ><

by Ryk on 2008-10-01 20:54 EDT

good job Iupdatemomz
\o/

by Ulver on 2008-10-01 21:06 EDT

iupdatemomz FTW!!!

by I_Threaten_U on 2008-10-01 21:41 EDT

Do people think that saking a balloth is better then gaining 2 life and having a 2/1 in play after deathcloud ?

I dont understand the main deck balloth over Kitchen finks.

Boseiju is just awfull it's only decent vs counterspell based blue decks and there is so mutch discard in the deck its useless... Boseiju causes more problems then fixes. Not to mention taking up a sideboard slot that could be another extirpate.

by Haro on 2008-10-01 21:56 EDT

Baloth + Garruk = bad times for aggro.

by aldaryn on 2008-10-01 22:30 EDT

Raven's Crime turns your wasted land draws (or your bonus lands from rot farm) into discard, so I think it is playable even w/o loam. 4 seems excessive though. Also, he isn't playing rot farm, so I guess you can scratch that part for this case

by ZW on 2008-10-01 23:03 EDT

level 17 paladin

by I_Threaten_U on 2008-10-01 23:28 EDT

I didn't even notice the lack of Rot farm... thats bad

I fail to understand the crazy combo between Garruk and Baloth, that Finks doesnt provide aswell...

Trust me when I say there is no advantage in playing Balloth over Kitchen finks.

by SteckSaus on 2008-10-02 00:21 EDT

crazy combo? you can sac a garruk beast to get 4 if need be, it's actually quite good if you can get it chugging

by Burton911 on 2008-10-02 00:30 EDT

Can anyone explain me why these bubble hulk Decks are around in the top4s?

They seem to be only straight Combo Decks without any Real Protection against a Control Deck, + they can't search for Hulk, or did i miss anything?

by Lunari_ on 2008-10-02 01:19 EDT

You most likely missed the Thoughtseizes and Pact of Negations. He also has 4 Ponder 4 Serum Visions 4 Thirst for Knowledge and 4 Ideas Unbound so finding a Hulk shouldn't be that big of a problem.

by DH on 2008-10-02 03:02 EDT

But finding a Footsteps is. That's why I lost, anyway. :S

BTW, good job, Iupdatemomz and Tink!

by SniperMayer on 2008-10-02 04:14 EDT

Can anyone explain me how bubble hulk works exactly?

by magicbmx on 2008-10-02 04:44 EDT

well ok never played it but it doesnt sound that hard to pull off lol. ok first u get hulk into yard fast and its not hard with this deck. then u footsteps it back into play and eot is fun time because first u get body double and feeder make body a hulk and then sake hulk and get revlark and mogg and just win. if i am wrong i am very sorry but thats how i see the deck

by BL on 2008-10-02 05:11 EDT

@I_Threaten_U

Common sense much? Or better, RTFC.

by Linkman on 2008-10-02 06:03 EDT

This deck really sucks, Bubble hulk. It's very inconsistent, and even loses to zoo. You don't want to run a deck that loses to zoo in this format.

by Rens on 2008-10-02 06:12 EDT

I tested the hulk deck and its just a lot worse than TEPS. Its more inconsistent since it needs 2 combo pieces and has no reliable way to find them. Its also vulnerable to the same hate + some more.

But this is still magic league and it won so i guess we will see it in top4's even if its bad just because people will play it and get lucky...

A bit like the sea stompy deck. It pops up here every time while its not actually a good deck.

LOL

3/2 + 2/1 < 4/4 obv

by Dr_Evil on 2008-10-02 06:45 EDT

For the guy that don't understand why baloth is better than finks, and im not defending this deck construction since was not me who made it, baloth is a obviously a higher threaten than finks, since he is a 4/4 instead of a 3/2 thats easy too kill, and u get 4 life by sacking him, what is better that oppinbg finks too kill or not get removed too get the extra 2 life... besides try play a garruk and a baloth in game, and then tell me where the hell finks is better then baloth...

About raven, i only need 4-5 lands most of the times, so its obviously an advantage too have it too burn the extra lands in a usefeul way...

by Dr_Evil on 2008-10-02 06:48 EDT

OH, and forgot about boseiju! Its not funny too watch a death cloud beeing countered... and boseiju never slowed me down tbh, since its only 1 on main deck, that can even been used with raven...

by WiCkEdWiZaRd on 2008-10-02 07:55 EDT

needs more life from the loam....

by Tink903 on 2008-10-02 07:59 EDT

well my deck may be jank but it got me to the top 4 so why trash talk it?

by TugaChampion on 2008-10-02 08:00 EDT

LOL Dr_Evil es tuga? Se sim entao é + um trial pa nós!!!

"I fail to understand the crazy combo between Garruk and Baloth, that Finks doesnt provide aswell..."

This is one of the most hilarious comments ever!

by Firebelly on 2008-10-02 10:45 EDT

usually finks will die twice by the time you cast dc. golgari rot farm makes the deck a lot faster, i dont know why you wouldnt run it. plus it feeds crime like someone said. and looking at the amount of blue that is actually t4ing i question boseiju, plus you have crime and thoughtseize to limit what is in their hand. and why would you ever cast cloud with the possibility of it being countered?

by TugaChampion on 2008-10-02 11:59 EDT

tink because in single elim any crap (player, deck or both) can win or do well.

by I_Threaten_U on 2008-10-02 12:57 EDT

Forgot it makes beasts lol... still having a 2/1 after cloud is better then the life gain imo.

by Linkman on 2008-10-02 13:26 EDT

Yea, just getting unlucky once is enough to knock you out so the results are quite bad over here.

by mtgsoldier on 2008-10-02 13:40 EDT

OMFG ANOTHER TRIAL FOR PORTUGAL GG?

by Lunari_ on 2008-10-02 13:53 EDT

When two bad decks are paired against each other, a bad deck wins. That's why decks like Bubble Hulk sometimes do well in trials and masters.

by Murphy on 2008-10-02 13:57 EDT

Portugal does it again.

Great Job.

Canadian fool, ur just saying crap. pls stop. k. ty. bye.

by DaveK on 2008-10-02 14:18 EDT

Canadians should simply stfu really.

by Tink903 on 2008-10-02 15:03 EDT

Well if anyone needs to know that my deck wasnt jank just look at the top 8 lists from the ptq hollywood season...youll get your answers there

by TugaChampion on 2008-10-02 15:32 EDT

LOL the deck kinda lost some important cards like deed, vindicate, therapy, duress and maybe more.

by Tink903 on 2008-10-02 15:36 EDT

well my build got it done looks like they are not so important :D

by Lantero on 2008-10-02 17:21 EDT

Your build sucks, so the rest is not important :D

by Orlandu on 2008-10-02 17:22 EDT

I mean, besides the fact that it's a 4/4..

by Acid_Christ on 2008-10-02 17:37 EDT

The call it Sea Stompy because it IS Sea Stompy.
