Please keep your critics about the MWC control (i definitely foresee some..) polite. Thank you.

I'd like to thank ACM(Smiley expert), dv8r (Scarface), tr4nsf3r(Web 3.0 t3rr0r), Murphy(Fases Xpert), theMamba(Best player alive) and some other guys with l337 n4m3z, for all their support, kindness, and sportsmanship.

France FTW!!!

LOL @ 3RD PLACE DECK PILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILEPILE

No, but seriously. The deck is actually really good vs kithkin, anything with "red" in its deck name, doran, and random rogue decks... It's probably -decent- against elementals, though I didn't get to play that matchup..

But it scoops to faeries. For that reason, I do NOT recommend it. :3 But you can't say it sucks THAT badly, seeing how it beat everything it played against except for the deck it shouldn't ever beat anyway.

by Murphy on 2008-08-21 21:27 EST

Lost to the winner again! ._. And he doesnt even know u can float mana to draw phase. LOL

wtv, Fase is portuguese :X

by thedarkness on 2008-08-21 21:28 EST

Whatcha wanna bet he knows how to spell phase though? :o

Don't flame. :<

by LordLink on 2008-08-21 21:30 EST

Ah, 'interesting' is a polite way of putting it I guess.

Either:

1. thedarkness is a brilliant MTG player who wins with bad decks

2. Magic-league sucks so that even bad decks win

3. We all suck at deck building and thedarkness has actually made a good deck.

The basic premise works I guess, it looks a lot like mono-black control in a way. A lot of removal to slow down the tempo, tutor for silver bullets/win cons then the white demigod to clinche the game.

by JohnRambo on 2008-08-21 21:34 EST

"Lost to the winner again! ._. And he doesnt even know u can float mana to draw fase. LOL"

And you don't know that Draw step ends end when you click on Main Phase.

by thedarkness on 2008-08-21 21:38 EST

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH, burned. He knows the difference between "phases" and "steps" too! OWNED!

by Circa on 2008-08-21 21:48 EST

Bahahahahahaha

AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

AHAHAHAHA

At least the best deck is still winning.

Fae's worst matchup; Fae.

by RaiSalcedo on 2008-08-22 02:23 EST

WOW! no RDW this time huh?

well, it seems lyk that they got a way to get that RDW off to top, or maybe its just a luck, afterall, MTG is a game of luck plus the skills...

ehehehehehh....

by gypsy on 2008-08-22 03:27 EST

people are shocked that they dont see certain decks on top but remember that this is single elim, all it takes is 1 bad draw to lose

by Shagrath on 2008-08-22 07:10 EST

Im glad that im not the only one saying that JohnRambo is retarded.
This is a proof that every ppl can win a trial with this single elimination system, but hey, its better than nothing.
Nice MWC deck. Did u test with the new 4/4 fly lifelink guy? Imo its a good addiction to your deck.

by Lynolf on 2008-08-22 07:45 EST

Go go go thedarkness!

:D

And Shagrath was talking about Divinity of Pride.

by thedarkness on 2008-08-22 08:27 EST

I actually dropped it right before the trial. I don't remember why.

by Krejcik on 2008-08-22 11:46 EST

yeah i toyed w MWC here and in T2. With the current meta MWC has all the elements to work and work well.

by Trotsky1 on 2008-08-22 12:10 EST

How good was endless horizons that card just seems nuts to me.

by magic_man11 on 2008-08-22 12:12 EST

"theMamba is the worst sore loser alive"

roflroflroflroflroflroflrofl, seriously I must interject! Like come on you don't remember the time i rolled u with kithkin 2-0 and u need to play me like 3 more times to make sure.... and I do remember beating you 4-1 there after? and you still couldn't take the loss. I mean come on man, you can't honestly say theMamba is a sore loser when in reality You are the worst sore loser IMO. Like seriously if your deck was so great how come it took you so long to win a trial? so all I can say is ROFL to you sir!

by thranarama on 2008-08-22 12:35 EST

Judging someone's skill by them winning a trial on M-L is faulty logic. Like it has been said, one bad draw can get you knocked out since it is single elim. Anyway, that being said, The mono white deck looks interesting, but I don't like Armored Ascension, even as a one-of. I would really like to see Ajani somewhere in the deck, as a win condition/way to gain life.

by JGMattos on 2008-08-22 12:40 EST

Where are the Kitkhins? move out to standart? xD

by Wichtelman on 2008-08-22 13:03 EST

3-0 drop with kitkhin
sleep > trial :P
i like this funny stuff here :D

by crew on 2008-08-22 13:14 EST

I don't know why you guys keep ragging on trials. I think they are a great source for improvement and the decks really aren't that bad, neither are the players... You get a chance to take your deck and throw it against the wall of standardized decks that other people (with a decent awareness of the formats) at least play semi-compitantly. Winning a trial is no big deal, but it's a push in the right direction and your time-vested in the single eliminations gives more incentive to focus on playing well. You get what you expect with a trial I guess...

by JohnRambo on 2008-08-22 13:46 EST

ROFL to the "magic_man" that wins 2 games on PURE and INDECENT luck and loose 2. Btw why do you keep talking and lying about it ? It has happened months ago. Are your wins so uncommon that you remember each one of them ?

3:55 pm, and I will shortly begin making some changes for today's trial. :)

First and foremost, Armored Ascension is hands-down the worst card in the deck. It won me exactly one game, which I already had well in hand, and it only won that game because I happened to have it in my opening 7.

Ajani however seems fairly ..meh. There aren't enough creatures to support his -1, I'd almost never want to use his -6, and 2 life isn't that great of an investment for 2 mana, and often that's really all his is. 4 mana for 2 life.

On the topic of Endless Horizons..THAT card is absolutely amazing. It won maybe 1/3 of my games. One game I remember I risked casting it game 2 vs kithkin with 5 lands on board and none in my hand, removing all my lands. Opponent had 2 lands, or else I obviously wouldn't have risked him having the ring. It stuck for a turn, put me on 6 lands, and I won from there, even though he topdecked the land to ring the Horizons the following turn. The thing about Horizons is that you don't REALLY need to use it to keep your land drops going or fill your hand. It's just a Mana Severence most of the time. More often than not, I was hitting 6-7 lands before I had the mana to cast it and the Horizons itself, and after casting it I was drawing gas the rest of the game. Fantastic card.

4. He got lucky for some rounds and lost when he faced a real matchup or a guy who didn't mull to 4? ;>

by thedarkness on 2008-08-22 22:06 EST

5. PV can't accept that maybe I'm either right about anything, telling the truth about anything, or both, and when I offer him irrefutable proof that I am one, the other, or both, he BLATANTLY REFUSES TO READ IT.

QFT. It's getting REALLY old.

by magic_man11 on 2008-08-25 19:49 EST

first I do remember beating you about 4 games in a row with ease i might add! Second it was in july (being month not months) and third I don't have few wins but I do not forget people who whine and can't take a loss!
